Happy 2 Months

Had a little photo shoot with Jack today to commemorate his 2 month birthday.

Is that a wink? I think so.

Jack's Nursery

The nursery is finished! (Ok, not really, but almost!) Mom was in town this weekend and we finally had a chance to hang up the shelves and artwork before, you know, Jack goes to grade school.  Since Jack is still sleeping in our room, his changing table and the awesome, most comfortablest (yeah it’s not a word but it should be) recliner is not yet back in the room but here’s some photos of how it all looks so far! Once the rest of the house gets a little more cleaned up (when will that be?), I will post pictures of our house sometime, you know, before Jack goes to college.

Be forewarned: This is not your typical boy’s nursery. I went robot crazy when we found out it was a boy. One question: Can you handle the cuteness?! Let’s find out. View on!

the crib that is rarely slept in

the mobile (i still can't handle this cuteness)

crib bumper and sheet I made during my pregnancy sewing frenzy

here's a pic of the most comfortablest recliner when it was still in the room...look how tiny Jack is! That's when he was 6 days old!

ridiculously cute handmade felt animals

guest bed on opposite corner of room from recliner

dresser with books and such (and wall.e)

Love the You Are My Sunshine sign (song has special meaning for me...a post on that to come later)

Look, the crib is being used for once! :) the cutest baby boy ever!

Thanks mom for helping out! It was a lot of fun and feels so good to get it all done!

Much love!

Wordless Wed: Getting to know his new surroundings

My New Mission (of sorts)

So, I really want to be a better blogger. By that, I mean, I want to blog more regularly and not just about our everyday life (which is fine and great) but I’d like to blog on my thoughts, sewing projects, you name it. I don’t have to be the next Pioneer Woman or anything (although she’s awesome) but I figured since I enjoy reading other people’s  blogs why couldn’t I contribute some to the blogosphere. I’d say my main reasons for not blogging more are a.) the obvious time factor (especially with a newborn) and b.) not knowing where to begin. (Ok, and c.) I’ve also forgotten (forgot? forgotten?) everything I learned in grammar and now everyone will know it…including my previously-an-English-teacher mom). So as a way to get into a groove, I’m going to do some of the daily themes like Multitude Monday (listing things you’re thankful for), Wordless Wednesdays (just pictures), and so on. Let me know if you’ve heard of any other special blog theme day ideas.

But, for now, I’m just going to share some of my fave websites/blogs that I check out during the wee hours of the morning feeding my sweet nursling:

  • Rookie Moms 2 geeky girls giving advice on motherhood for a geek like me
  • Noodlehead uh-mazing tutorials and adorable sewing ideas
  • luvinthemommyhood more great tutorials and new mommyhood advice
  • The Pioneer Woman she rocks, what can I say?
  • Catalog Living because it’s so freakin’ funny and it’s good for your health to laugh so hard, you cry sometimes

Speaking of the nursling, I gotta go so that’s all for now! Oh and here’s a picture of said nursling for fun (and because I’m obsessed with his cute little butt – who wouldn’t be?!):

Much love!
